Las Golondrinas - lovely, spacious apartment Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca

     Location

Puerto Pollensa lies in the north of Mallorca at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains.  It is a spectacularly unspoilt area of the island, far from the madding crowds of the south, and with a low-rise, almost old fashioned beauty and tranquility.

Las Golondrinas is a small, residential apartment block on the outskirts of the port, 12 minutes walk from an idyllic sandy beach with calm seas and excellent swimming, sailing and other water sports facilities.  The port itself is also 12 minutes’ walk with a splendid selection of cafes and restaurants and the famous Pine Walk.

     The Area

5 km to the west is the old town of Pollensa. Beyond Pollensa are the mountains. 5 km to the north west are the fishing village and beaches of Cala San Vicente, which are excellent for swimming and snorkelling.  To the north is the peninsular of Formentor with a most beautiful sandy beach and 5 km to the south east are the old town and port of Alcudia.  The area is wonderful for spectacular walks; on mountain paths around the ancient monastery of Lluc and on coastal paths, all of which are well documented. The area is also of special interest to bird watchers.

Not far by car or bus is the National Park and bird migration area at S’Albufera.
